So, did you know that I don't eat pork anymore, both in Minecraft and in real life? You might be asking youselves: "Why do you don't eat bacon no more? They're delicious!" Well, I have many reasons why I don't eat pork anymore. First of all, I stopped eating pork on December 23rd, 2015. After experiencing Reuben's devastating death, my family and I have decided that we should not be eating any more pork for the rest of our lives. It was finalized the day after Episode 4 of Minecraft: Story Mode was released. Idiotically, because I did not know that the scene was added for a reason, I blamed Telltale Games for killing off Reuben. I was 13 years old at that time. However, this is not the only reason why I stopped eating pork, INCLUDING bacon, for good. Here are the rest of it, and some of them could be shocking.
.) Pigs are actually scavengers. They eat almost anything, such as urine, rotten food, carcasses, and cancerous growth. Gross, right? Yeah, it's disgusting.
.) Pigs, unlike us as humans, do not have sweat glands, meaning that they are unable to remove toxins by sweating, which makes them toxic for us to consume.
.) Sadly, eating pork can ACTUALLY increase your risk of developing various of ilnesses, such as colon cancer. This is because pigs have more toxins inside their bodies.
.) Because of this, pigs are far more treated horribly in industrial factories, as they are plagued by myriad of dangerous infections and illnesses.
.) You're not going to believe this. Even though pigs are carefully raised in pig farms, they are still affected by them. Therefore, nearly 200 raw pork samples were tested, and they are contaminated with a dangerous bacteria called the yersinia enterocolitica.
.) What is even more unfortunate is that some of the parasites in pigs are surprisingly difiicult to kill, even when they are cooking. This sets as a warning of eating undercooked pork.
.) Aside of health risk of eating pork, millions of people are living with parasites inside them, such as the pork tapeworm parasite, neurocysticercosis, tricinosis, and trichinellosis.
.) Some religions forbid pork due to their uncleaniness. This is understandable because pork contains so many parasites that can cause infections.
I cannot risk my life for being contracted with such nasty illnesses that could cause death. I am beyond words on how most people still eat pork, not even aware of such dangers to their health. I'm SO glad I stopped because it is for my family and my health safety, and also for Reuben's memory. Fortunately, there are other healthier options for other meats, such as turkey, which contains less fat than pork. Man, am I glad that I did not allow Jesse to eat not even one porkchop in Season 2, Episode 5. That would have been heartless. :)
